Register  today for summer camps at Cranbrook Institute of Science! Institute of Science camps gives inquisitive campers from kindergarten through eighth grade the opportunity to dive deeper into science in a unique and safe environment! Join us for one week, or attend every week, since they don’t repeat, to explore the treasures of Cranbrook’s campus.

Explore Science! (Entering grades K – 5)
July 9-13 | July 16-20 | July 23-27 | July 30-August 3 | August 6-10 | 9:30am – 3:30pm | $320 for members | $365 for non-members per week
Attention all science enthusiasts! Join us for unique, themed programs, making meaningful discoveries as campers tackle new activities, experiments, and investigations. They’ll be divided by age (entering Kindergarten, entering 1st – 2nd grade, and entering 3rd – 5th grade) to enhance their experience, as they become geologists, paleontologists, chemists,
biologists, and physicists. Every week is different – join us for one, or all five!

Engineering and Innovation Camp (Entering grades 6 – 8)
June 25-29 | 9:30am – 3:30pm | $450 for members | $500 for non-members
Give your student the chance to immerse themselves in computer aided design (CAD), science, engineering, and math this summer. Professional staff from Cranbrook Institute of Science and DASI Solutions will teach students about STEM through real-world experiments and challenges, and receive 10 hours of CAD training using Solidworks Professional Design
software. The students will see how those designs can be used in hands-on activities to test scientific and engineering principles, boat design, and an eggdrop challenge, and discuss how the design worked or didn’t based on statistical results.

Explore in the D! (Entering grades 6 – 8)
August 13-16 | $395 for members | $440 for non-members
Back by popular demand, Explore in the D! takes students through more than 300 years of exciting history in Detroit (“the D”). Participants will delve into rare artifacts from the Institute’s collections and experience “the D” on field trips to locations both famous and mysterious. Discover the secret stories of Native Americans, French fur traders, Civil War soldiers, underground railroad conductors, and travel beneath “the D” to learn about the ice age geology and bedrock of Detroit’s cultural center. Destinations will be different from last
year’s Explore in the D!

Explore After Dark! (All Ages)
8pm, August 11 – 8am, August 12 | $75 members | $85 non-members
A night at the museum comes to life at Explore After Dark! Pack your sleeping bags and grab the family for an experience at the museum like no other. Sleepover activities include a viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower, a sunset hike, star gazing in the Institute’s Observatory, and a show in the state-of-the-art Acheson Planetarium. A late-night snack and breakfast are included.

Before and after care is available for an additional fee. Campers will enjoy playing games before the day begins, and after camp will explore museum exhibits and engage in
